Using B2B Handsfree with passwordless customer accounts

B2B Handsfree works with both legacy as well as the new passwordless customer accounts. There are just some differences regarding the integration of the B2B registration form and how new B2B customers are onboarded.

Registration form

If you're using the new passwordless customer accounts on your Shopify store (you can check this if you go to Settings > Customer accounts), you have to place the B2B Handsfree registration form on its own page. This is because with passwordless customer accounts there is no registration page.

Registration process

If you have the appropriate setting enabled in B2B Handsfree, customers who register a customer account through the B2B Handsfree registration form will receive an account invite email.

If the store is using legacy customer accounts, clicking the button in the invite email will send the customer to a page where they can set a password for their account. With passwordless customer accounts, clicking the button instead leads to a page where customers can request a one-time login code which is sent to their email address.
